Amy Coney Barrett Confirmed as U.S. Supreme Court Justice

The U.S. Senate has just voted to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett as the newest justice on the United States Supreme Court. North Carolina Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis joined 50 of their GOP Senate colleagues to approve President Trump’s third nominee to the nation’s highest court. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine was the only Republican to vote with Senate Democrats against the confirmation of Barrett to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Barrett is the fifth woman to sit on our nation’s highest court and could be sworn in as early as this evening. At age 48, she will be the youngest justice currently serving on the court. For more about Justice Barrett, check out NC Family’s article “Who is Amy Coney Barrett?”
