Legalizing Marijuana Isn’t Compassionate

Lately, there has been a huge push to legalize marijuana across the country for a variety of “medical” and other purposes. While many medical organizations state that there is not enough scientific evidence to prove that this is a safe and effective form of “treatment,” marijuana is quickly becoming a commonly accepted part of healthcare. Right now in North Carolina, the General Assembly is considering SB 3 — The Compassionate Care Act, which would legalize marijuana for a variety of “medical” purposes.

This week on Family Policy Matters, host Traci DeVette Griggs welcomes Jaime Zerbe, chief of staff at Smart Approaches to Marijuana, along with NC Family’s Jere Royall and Sharon Sullivan to discuss the dangers of “medical” marijuana and the impact it could have on North Carolina.
