Take a STAND FOR LIFE Today and Next Tuesday, May7!

As NC Family alerted you last night, the NC Senate voted to override Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of SB 359–Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which is designed to protect the lives of newborn babies who survive a failed abortion attempt. This critically important bill now heads to the NC House, and we are working hard to secure the votes in that chamber to override the Governor’s veto, but WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Here are three things you can do to help push SB 359 over the finish line:

(1) SAY THANK YOU:  To override the veto, a three-fifths vote of Senators present and voting was necessary. The vote was 30-20, the slimmest margin possible, and it required at least one Democrat to join with the 29-member GOP majority to override. Sen. Don Davis (D-Greene) took a courageous stand against significant pressure from his party and the Governor to support the override. Please contact Sen. Don Davis at (919) 715-8363 to tell him Thank You! Please also contact the primary sponsor of SB 359, Sen. Joyce Krawiec (R-Forsyth), at (919) 733-7850 to thank her for her excellent leadership on this effort. (The image to above is Sen. Krawiec testifying on the Senate floor in favor of SB 359.)

(2) EMAIL YOUR STATE HOUSE MEMBERS TODAY:  Go to NC Family’s Action Center and send an email to your State House Member to urge them to override the Governor’s veto. Even if you have contacted your House Member before about SB 359, please do so again, as this vote has to do with the override of the Governor’s veto. They need to hear from you today!

(3) ATTEND THE STAND-FOR-LIFE RALLY IN RALIEGH NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 7: Join with ProLife citizens from across the state to Take-A-Stand-for-Life at the NC General Assembly next Tuesday, May 7. Hear from ProLife leaders and show your support for numerous prolife bills that are currently being considered by our state lawmakers. (See the flier below for more details.)
